Dana had noticed the Pokemon on the outskirts of Brookelt Hill. Hawluchas were normally 2′7, which was Dana’s exact height, but the child didn’t think it was a Pokemon. To her, it looked more like an acrobat in a costume. “I really like your costume,” Dana said as she approached the other: she’d seen them from a distance. But now standing next to them, she could just tell it wasn’t a costume anymore. “Wait a minute. Are you a Pokemon?!”

Did she really have to deal with this now? There was so many choices to chose from, which was starting to get frustrating. “I don’t know which one I want to get,” the child muttered, hands splayed over the glass of the display case. Inside was all kinds of merchandise such as Pokeballs, Potions, and Antidotes. Even though Dana was an experienced trainer, she still had a hard time buying things that would help her Pokemon. Fingers curled on the glass; her face was so close it was creating fog with each puff of breath. Obscuring her vision, the fogged up glass was wiped at with the child’s sleeve so she could see again, but it took her eyes time to adjust. It would have been easier to hold her face away from the display case, but this thought never entered the child’s mind. “I- Uhm...I’m sorry,” she apologized to the boy behind her in line who she had just noticed standing there. To her, Hau looked like a pretty serious trainer. “Oh, hey. Can you help me? I’m trying to figure out what I need to stock up on. But I’m havin’ a hard time picking things out. Can I have some help?”

“White! How’s it been? I haven’t seen you in a while! Are you doing okay?” Dana was now hugged onto his arm and peeking up at him, a small smile on her face. “We should do something. I wanna play a game with you. I think we should be tag. Or maybe we could throw rocks?” Dana was so excited to see her friend that she was babbling on and on, her hands gesturing happily.

“You seem really nice, and see the Professor talking to you a lot. Would you like to play trains with me sometimes? It’s a game I made up where you take a toy train and push it down the hallway very fast. It’s really fun!”

Sunshine was rare in the town that always rained: overcast skies blocked out any significant rays of sun that could be seen by the human eye which made Po Town extremely dreary. The mornings were the worst by far because the lack of sun meant nobody could tell if it was morning or night without taking a peek at the digital clocks. Guzma seemed to be the only one with an analog watch these days, and the Grunts relied heavily on that to decipher the days from the nights. Because of this phenomena, Dana was not ready to get up that morning. Dana was supposed to go with Gladion on patrol, but the child was still snuggled up in her bed, the covers pooled around her cheek in a comforting embrace. Nothing could wake her up- not even the blaring alarm clock- which angered the other Grunts. “Turn it off, yo,” one of them complained, shooting a nasty look Dana’s way. In response, Dana reached over and lazily unplugged the alarm clock. Plush pillows fell off her bed when her arm knocked them over, but the child was too sleepy to care- or remember about her mission with Gladion.

“I wasn’t cryin! I just sprung a leak was all. Besides, Lassie’s an emotional movie!” The robot pauses to think of a movie that would be suitable for Dana and one that wouldn’t cause him to become overly emotional (he hated that).
“D’alright, ya know what? In the spirit of Halloween, we’re gonna have to watch some Halloween classics! …So, uh,ya know any?”
“What? I thought Lassie was a movie about a dog. I thought you didn’t like dogs.” Dana leaned back against the couch and thought for a bit. “I’m not really allowed to watch scary movies...but mom’s not here right now. So I guess the rules don’t apply. I’ve watched the Ring before. It’s alright. But I also like the Grudge. Both are pretty good. What about you? I’ve already seen Friday the 13th like a bazillion times already. It’s always on television.”
